La Tardecita – January 2026

La Tardecita

TDJ: Juan Houblon (Fribourg, CH)

Juan is originally from Buenos Aires, where he grew up surrounded by tango thanks to his parents and relatives, some of whom were musicians and singers. Tango has been part of his life since childhood, woven into his memories, his culture, and his identity. In recent years, life has taken him to Europe, where he now moves between France and Switzerland while continuing to share his passion for this art.

For Juan, tango is a living and evolving expression—something to dance, listen to, feel, and transmit with devotion. He sees the milonga as far more than a dance floor; it is a celebration, a social ritual, a space of encounters and exchanges where people connect through music and movement. As a DJ, his mission is to support and enrich that atmosphere, creating sensations that elevate the shared experience.

Juan selects each tanda with great care, playing with emotions and energies across different eras and orchestras, mainly from the 1930s to the 1950s, while also integrating contemporary sounds when they complement the flow. He loves crafting a musical journey that guides dancers through rhythms, melodies, textures, and moods—always aiming to preserve the harmony between the music and the dance floor.

His goal is simple: to inspire dancers, awaken emotions, and contribute to that unique magic that only tango can create.

About Sepideh: Sepideh, originally from Iran, began her tango journey in 2014 when she spent 4 months in Buenos Aires. In 2016 she decided to move to Argentina where she could study with some of the best tango teachers in the world. The teachers who have most influenced her as a dancer and teacher are Ana Maria Schapira, Graciela González and Ricardo Viqueira.

Sepideh started teaching tango in Buenos Aires in 2018, focusing mainly on connection, technique and role change. However, after 8 years of living there, she and her partner Juan moved to Germany at the end of 2023. She now hopes to share her knowledge and love of tango with the European tango community, especially those in the Frankfurt/Wiesbaden area.
