TDJ: Ilias (Tessaloniki, GR)
Ilias first started dancing traditional and folkloric Greek dances. However, tango unexpectedly entered his life 23 years ago.
What he loves about dancing Tango is that he can be himself, ready to share thoughts, feelings or even aura. It can sometimes feel like being exposed, but only in a completely safe way. The best part of dancing tango is the interaction between the couple on the dance floor and how they communicate during the tango. This interaction is what he is looking for when DJing, but in this case the interaction is between him and all the dancers.
Ilias sees it as a challenge to capture moments, signs and expressions of the dancers, or even feel the energy on the dance floor if possible, so that he can harmonize it with the next tanda.
Finally, Ilias has a lot of tango songs that deserve to be heard and danced, and he wonders how dancers could interpret them. His preference as a DJ and dancer is the Golden Age.
