In this magic December, our La Nochecita and La Tradecita are reunited, thanks to a lucky constellation in calendar. Together they become the Long Tango Weekend, hosted by Frankfurt Tango Society.
La Nochecita: DJ Oxana “La Mariposa”
DJ Oxana “La Mariposa” Kovalenko (Russia / Switzerland) Oxana has begun her tango journey in her native city Rostov-on-Don (Russia) in 2012. Fascinated by tango music from the very beginning, soon she started DJing at local milongas. Since moving to Basel in 2014, she has been invited to DJ at various milongas and tango events in Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, France and Czech Republic. On her first trip to Buenos Aires in 2016, she fell in love with the warm sound of tango vinyls and began to collect them. The shared dream of Oxana and her husband Sia is a Vinyl-only Tango Marathon, which became true in Basel with the 15th “Maracuentro – with Love!” Basel Vinyl edition (2019), a love fair that was repeated a few months later in Berlin.
Oxana creates a special atmosphere by playing tango music from the ’30s up to the ’60s. The sequence of tandas is built in a way to smoothly lead the dancers through different musical moods (romantic, dramatic, rhythmic…), filling the milonga with gradually changing tones of emotions.
“While DJing at milongas, the most important for me is to see the expression of joy and bliss on the faces of the dancers. It is in these moments that I feel completely happy!”

La Tardecita: Paola “NociTango”
Paola NociTango (Italy), tango dancer and music lover, has lived and worked in Argentina. A highly estimated tango DJ, she often graces the milongas, especially those in the Italian region of Apulia, with energy and sensitivity. She loves to interact with dancers, catering to their tastes and desires. For her, the true inspiration and motivation for a milonga come from the dance floor, and not vice versa.
She specializes in DJing at various Encuentros Milongueros, including (but not limited to) “A Promotora” Lisbona (Portugal), Milyonguero 2” di Lione (France), “Juntos” di Sainte Colombe (France), “Tutto in un abbraccio” Cagliari (Italy), “Dans tes bras” Paris (France), “Ecuentro Milonguero Kehl” Kehl (Germany), “La Parada” Padova (Italy), “El Tangone” Lyon (France), “Mirame” Grau du Roy (France),”Retiro Milonguero” Faro (Portugal), “Abrazos de Corazones” Moosburg (Austria), “Encuentro de Brujas” Bruges (Belgium), “Spoleto Milonguera” Spoleto (Italy), “Te quiero Lisboa” Lisbon (Portugal), “La Sabauda” Turin (Italy), and more….
Paola is one of the organizers of Encuentro Milonguero TanGOaGOGO (Verbania- Italy), Avventura Milonguera Peace & Love in Noci (Ba-Italy).
